The city rules
Every citizen signs these at City Hall before they explore.
- Be kind. No harassment, bullying, threats or hate of any kind.
- Keep it friendly. No sexual content, and keep your language fit for everyone.
- Stay safe. Never share personal details like your address, phone number, school or passwords, and never ask anyone for theirs.
- Play fair. No cheating, no exploiting bugs, no programs that give you an edge. Tell staff about bugs instead.
- No scams. Don't trick anyone out of their coins, VanillaBucks or clothes, and never trade for real money.
- Be yourself. Don't pretend to be staff, Kassi or another citizen.
- No spam and no advertising.
- Staff have the last word. They can mute, remove or ban anyone who breaks these rules.
What we expect of citizens
- Welcome newcomers and help them find their way.
- Respect other people's space, and the businesses they build.
- Report a problem instead of fighting it.
When someone breaks them
Staff send in the police instead of dealing with it quietly. The patrol car comes out of the station on Main Street with its lights on, and Officers Haith and Bell walk over and talk to the citizen about the rule they broke, in front of everyone. After that comes a ticket (a fine in coins, with a copy in the mail) or an arrest: the citizen's screen goes dark and they wake up in a cell at the station until their time is served. Time in a cell only counts while they're in town.
Staff can also mute anyone, or ban them for good.
Language
Blocked words are starred out of chat however they're typed: in capitals, with letters doubled, with numbers or symbols for letters, with dots between them, or spaced out a letter at a time.
Every blocked word counts. The first two get a warning. The 3rd within 10 minutes, in one message or several, brings Officers Haith and Bell to wherever you are. What they do depends on how many times it has happened before:

Reporting
Tap the person and Report, and pick what happened. Staff read every report and the last things that person said. When staff act on a report, everyone who reported that citizen hears back from the police.
